That day led me and some other to explore other avenues. I looked around and a year had gone by, and sometimes it would be myself and one employee for each shift or no one but myself again the changes we were promised never happened until one day I had to change the narrative because I was assaulted in the workplace alone and robbed. Corporate leaders said things would get better, and I was hopeful but when days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. I then asked may I close the door until I could secure help. I called my supervisor to ask for help or back up to find out every location in myĭistrict had the exact same problem. I shook to my core not knowing who was watching to take advantage of an understaffed environment. When I found myself alone in the workplace at times because lower-level employees couldn't or wouldn't come to work because they had no one to care for their kids or jus couldn't pay anyone. Will that be okay with you? 01:06 Participant: Yes ma'am 01:08 Researcher: First question in your own words, how would you describe the events that eventually lead to you leaving your position? 01:18 Participant: Well basically I felt unappreciated for the last for years of my career, and when COVID-19 hit making its entrance into our lives things really took a turn for the worst.
